We arrived on Tuesday evening -- and walked around a little town (St. Saveur), where we discovered "La-Boheme" -- a type of restaurant that would typically be found in France (or so we were told). We retired early that night (My head was on the pillow with eyes closed at 8:30 pm!). The resort, located in St. Hippolyte, was located right on a lake and backed up to a wooded mountainside. Needless to say, it was refreshing to be there!
On Wednesday we drove to Montreal. We spent the day there shopping and exploring. Tom had already gotten tickets to see the symphony -- and Joshua Bell (one of my absolute favorite violinists) was playing. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing him! We met him briefly after the concert -- and he seemed pretty happy to have some English-speaking admirers!
On Thursday, we slept in, then went out to a French restaurant for breakfast. After stuffing ourselves with crepes, fruit, etc., we walked around doing some window shopping, and then drove around the area a bit. We also took a nice mid-day nap at the resort (not something we get to do that often at home!).
On Friday, we met with a guide in the morning, just after breakfast. We had arranged to go on an excursion to explore the area -- in an ATV. We knew it would be safer to have a guide who could show us around and show us how to drive the thing. We had a BLAST! The day was beautiful, though cold, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. About 30 minutes from the end of our time on the ATV, we were headed up a rocky hill. Our ATV flipped backward and upside down. Tom jumped out of the ATV -- and that's all he can remember of the accident. I was stuck in there, unfortunately -- unable to jump out (I was in the back seat), so flipped along with the machine. I remember looking up and seeing the ATV coming down toward me, thinking, "well - this is it". It only flipped me -- bruising my legs and hurting my back ( I am currently waiting to hear from my doctor for a referral to a specialist). God mercifully spared us! Our guide watched the whole thing in disbelief (we had followed all of his instructions very carefully). He then said that we were extremely lucky to be alive and in one piece, from what he saw.
So here we are, back home. While we are not happy to have had such an accident -- it makes for an interesting story, yes? Overall, we had a fantastic time -- and were grateful for time alone!

Hubby and I were thinking of a Canada trip much like yours, for our 20th anniv. I may hit you up for info about your trip, okay?
